Welcome Back Will! Or Not On a quiet summer evening, a torn and frayed Will Morrison (Lukas Haas) shows up at Mary (Wendy Crewson) and Arthur (R.H. Thomson) Bloom's island cottage after a long unexplained absence. The Blooms, parents of Will's best friend Daniel (Adam Scott) welcome him in and they share an awkward dinner. The next morning, summoned by his mother's worried phone call, Daniel arrives form New York City where he has become a very successful writer. It quickly becomes clear that Will and Daniel are no longer that close; in fact, they seem to hate each other. Words soon lead to fisticuffs, and the childhood pals are in the process of throttling each other when Mary interrupts to tell them that Maggie (Molly Parker), Will's wife and Daniel's first love, is waiting to be picked up at the dock.
