In a world first, Madman Entertainment was able to screen the very first episode of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood at the exact same time the show went to broadcast on Japanese TV.
Taking place on Sunday the 5th of April at 6pm, the 400+ strong crowd packed the Madman Anime Theatre at Supanova Expo Brisbane waiting excitedly for the start of the program.
Introducing the special event was none other than the original English voice of Edward Elric - Vic Mignonga. A self confessed fan of Fullmetal Alchemist, Vic whipped the crowd into a frenzy, counting down with the fans to the start of the screening.
During the screening, fans cheered loudly as their favourite characters made their on-screen debuts in this new version of the show, with Armstrong receiving one of the loudest and most loving receptions (next to the Elric brothers of course)!
Afterwards, the fans gathered for a photo to celebrate this historic event forming Ed's trademark alchemy transmutation *clap* sign.
Madman thanks all of the fans in Brisbane who made this such a special and historic night. Special thanks also to Vic Mignonga, for being a gracious and excellent host.
