MADMAN WHAT IF THEY MATED ART COMP WINNERS
The Madman Fanzone artists love a good mashup and they know how to put characters in some awkward situations, so this month was a real treat with the onset of Spring - it's a little bit of birds and a little bit of bees!
The mission is to take two (or more!) different characters and show us what their offspring would be like!
For those unfeasable situations it didn't always have to be a child borne of normal means, maybe a DNA clone with best of breed features, but the important thing is that we see characteristics of the two characters in the look, style, or powers of the new creation.
As always, creativity in the concept is as important as great artwork, and family portraits were also encouraged!

linkxsora by mishelly
mishelly has turned in a really fine piece, which not only looks crisp and cleanly coloured, but you can clearly see the influences of the two source characters. Mishelly has combined Link of Zelda and Sora of Kingdom Hearts for a perfectly recognisable offspring, all the more impressive that this is evident without the "parents" in the image.

ponyokarps by hehalana
One of the most unique art styles used this month, hehelana's Ponyo is looking a little freaky, but in a beautifully rendered and painterly way! The lovechild of Ponyo and Magikarp is strange sealife indeed.

Third Place
Swift Wind and Ein's offspring by AJchan
She'ra's loyal winged steed shows she's a magical member of the cartoon animal kingdom in more ways than one, by mating with Cowboy Bebop's Ein, a small Corgi! We love the distinctive look of the offspring, and the inherited characteristics are well displayed!

Fourth Place
Team Pollard by Corad
Another fantastic family portrait, Corad has found characters with some unexpected common ground, in Little Britain's Vicky Pollard and Dragon Ball Z's evil Majin Buu! Just look at the mean, pink little tyke that resulted. Extremely funny stuff.

Honorable Mentions
There were again so many good pieces out of the many wonderful entries that we wanted to highlight some more strong pieces. All of these honorable mentions will receive a surprise DVD!
Alien Saiyan by Corz I Can
A stunning image as things get a bit creepy with the Saiyan ape being infected by an alien! Corz I Can also submitted this excellent new Saiyan character, Haru, in the Toriyama tradition.
SPIRITED AWAY from EARTHSEA by The Jin
Great work by the Jin with this very convincing combination, with the offspring of these two iconic Ghibli dragons displaying a natural looking blend of both.
Andercard by dogaholic
Who says two sworn enemies can't find a common ground? In this case a literal child of Hellsing's mightiest vampire and vampire hunter, the story of Alucard's pitch to Anderson told in convincing style
The Hollow Pirate by Bijoux
Bijoux has given us a really well thought out backstory for this spectacular combat between the DNA combination of Luffy and Ichigo, and Goku and Naruto, the features of each brilliantly evident.
