TV soap Neighbours "Mangels" name of famous Anime Director!

Our trashy pop culture moles have reported that Australian TV icon, Neighbours, has recently realised that the cool of anime cannot be ignored, when in last night's episode (6/9/06), hip-with-the-kids Harold observed his cute-as-pie granddaughter Sky with a Totoro plushie.

"What's that?" the codger was reported to have asked. Sky "Mangel"ed her line by exclaiming "we're celebrating Mizayaki's birthday", and something about a creature called "Toroto".



For the curious, My Neighbour Totoro director, Hayao Miyazaki, celebrates his birthday on January 5th.
