The final match of the league round begins as Shohoku and Ryonan square off for the remaining place in the Championship. While Shohoku has to play without Coach Anzai, Ryonan's wild card, Fukuda, is proving to be a bit of a problem - especially for Sakuragi. Meanwhile, even as his last chance of going to the Championship hangs in the balance, Akagi is virtually paralysed by the psychological effects of his injury. With both Sakuragi and Akagi hamstrung, and Ryonan tearing ahead, Shohoku must rally, or face certain defeat.
