The Basics

Eligible Costumes:
We welcome entries for costumes that are from Japanese anime, manga and video games. This contest is a celebration of Japanese pop culture and cosplay culture. If you are unsure whether your costume qualifies, please do not hesitate to contact us for clarification.

Format:
We will be opening the event to teams of 2 as well as individuals. Both individuals and pairs will be competing on the same formats. There are no separate categories. Entrants will compete in a state preliminary round at designated events throughout the year. 1 team will be selected as best overall on the day of the contest and be given entry into the Grand Final Event held at Supanova Expo in Brisbane in November.

Wild card finals entry
If deemed appropriate, the judges may select a wild card entry after all qualifying rounds have finished. There will be up to a maximum of 5 wild card entries, but is not guaranteed. Wild cards will only be given out under special circumstances.

Wild card entrants for the final must pay their own way to the final including accommodation and flights.

THE PRIZES

The winning team from each state will be flown from their nearest capital city to compete in the grand final event in Brisbane. The cost of airfares and accommodation will be provided for these state winners.

Madman Entertainment prize vouchers will also be provided to each winner and runner ups of events.

The winner of the Grand Final event will receive a trip for two to Japan in 2013 to attend an event of their choice.
