In the beginning, there was a hero. A powerful figure, who stood alone, lighting the way through the dull cartoon darkness. Well, to a lazy desk job talking nonsense to befuddled celebrities, his superpowered life a tatters. But, it still led to a world where the oddball, awkward, lurid, subversive - are virtues. He is the genesis. He is Tad Ghostal.

Yes, this month the ghost host with the most, Space Ghost, returns with more late night shenanigans. If you've ever enjoyed anything [adult swim], you owe a debt to this man. Personally. In cash. We'll take payment on his behalf - just mail it to the usual address.

What, you don't owe laughs to this man? You heel! Space Ghost Coast To Coast's fifth volume of celebrity interviews and weirdness is as good a place as any to learn you some respect. With Aqua Teen, Brak and many other AS luminaries spilling from Space Ghost's ample loins, going back to the source will assuredly satisfy and add immeasurably to one's cartoon education.

Another little known, but highly dangerous example of what was unleashed, is this month's 12 Oz. MOUSE. This guy, he does it all. You name it, he's already done it. While drunk. Driving really fast. From the mangled mind of Matt Malleiro, writer on Space Ghost and co-creator of Aqua Teen, this truly misanthropic, nasty, devil may care rat bastard is going to crawl straight into your under passages. Hide your booze and hide your guns!

Meanwhile, for those of you that can bear to leave the house, you will be AMPLY REWARDED! The makers of ROBOT CHICKEN - creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, with co-head writer Tom Root - are visiting our shores this month. Get thee to the news item below for the lowdown!

Harvey Birdman makes American Bar's top 25 Lawyer shows list

Showing a surprising knack for legal levity, the American Bar Association, the ruling body for America's army of briefcase-bearers, has shared its love for Birdman. It made top news and got a sweet write up at 16 on the list.

Mouse "Fitz" Fitzgerald is a sociopath. He's crudely drawn and exceedingly confident. He loves firearms, booze, and anarchy. He does "all things" and obeys no rules.

Caught in a world of espionage, love and the delights of odd jobs, Fitz gets sidetracked, by robbing banks or just rocking out. With each job from the boss Shark, Fitz and chinchilla sidekick Skillet uncover lies and intrigue with more questions than answers.

Talking Titan With Tom (Root)

So Tom, tell us a little about your "twisted" history with Robot Chicken and [adult swim]?

Robot Chicken evolved from a series of Web shorts, which in turn evolved from an animated clip Seth Green wanted to produce for his next appearance on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." It dawns on me that Australian readers might not be familiar with Conan O'Brien. Or with Seth Green. In fact, I'm not exactly sure which language Australians speak. I hope they speak Latin. Nobody seems to do much with that language anymore. Anyway, e plurbius unum.

What is the inspiration for Titan Maximum? Does it have anything to do with a love of collecting tin cans as a child?

I don't think you should joke about recycling. It's important for all of us to pitch in and contribute to environmental efforts. We only have one Earth! Titan Maximum comes from all the giant robot and/or teams-of-young-people-fighting-evil shows of the '70s, '80s and '90s. We wanted to explore the dark underbelly of dazzling youths piloting dazzling mech.

You've made a show about giant robots, do you foresee some kind of Robot Chicken guest star to make for a robo-party?

We tried to sneak Robot Chicken's Humping Robot character into a crowd scene in the first season, but it got cut for time. Maybe we can sneak Leon into Robot Chicken's next season somehow. Monkeys and robots, that's what we're about, people.

Which of the new cast of characters most accurately reflects you, in all your glory?

Whichever character shoots the most heroin! Aw yeah! Heroin, am I right? Where my heroin peeps at? No, really, if there was a giant robot battle in my town, I'd be like one of those guys sitting on the toilets in our pilot episode. Kind of the way the phone always rings when you're in the shower.

What is the coolest thing about Titan Maximum that nobody would know? C'mon, you can tell us...

Each of the ships has its own mini-fridge. That's a secret only I know. And now, you know it too.

So we heard you wrote the Ponda Baba sketch in Robot Chicken Star Wars I. How much time have you spent thinking about the life of Ponda Baba?

I've spent more time than most people thinking about the life of Ponda Baba. I was even Ponda Baba for Halloween in 1997. Being Ponda Baba sucks. It's impossible to sip a drink through those giant teeth.

You're a funny guy. If we wanted to bake a funnycake, what ingredients would we need?

Flour, eggs, sugar, milk.

Is there anything you'd like to warn the fans about before you arrive here on our former penal colony?

Australia was formerly a colony for penises? There's a weird visual. I'd like to warn the fans that my cell phone probably won't work in Australia, so my hands will be constantly twitching in thin air due to muscle memory. It doesn't mean I'm having a seizure.
