MELBOURNE, Thursday, 23 February, 2006 – Following the success of the hugely popular TRANSFORMERS GENERATION 1 DVD collections, Madman Entertainment is proud to announce the release of BEAST WARS on its 10th anniversary! BEAST WARS is the amazing 3D animation that revitalised TRANSFORMERS in the late 90s – putting an all new spin on the franchise’s mythos and introducing a fantastic cast of new heroes and villains; the valiant Maximals and the evil Predacons!

Centuries after the Great Wars between the Autobots and Decepticons ended, their descendents – the Maximals and Predacons – are at peace. Or so it seems. A rebel group of criminal Predacons and their heroic Maximal pursuers crash-land on a primitive world.  Finding this strange planet has dangerous amounts of energy, they take on animal forms for protection, transforming into robots to do battle. The BEAST WARS have begun!

Regarded not only as an outstanding sequel to TRANSFORMERS GENERATION 1, BEAST WARS is remarkable for its quality as a standalone science-fiction series, with great writing focusing on a small cast of well developed characters, fantastic action, ground-breaking 3D animation, and ingenious plotting that ties together with the original Transformers universe. This is the first of three collections of BEAST WARS on DVD - if you haven’t seen BEAST WARS, you don’t know the whole story!
