MELBOURNE, Wednesday, 01 March, 2006 – The year is 2075 AD. The dream of working and living in the vast openness of space is now a reality. However, a new threat has arisen and if left unchecked will prove fatal: Space Debris!
Following a space-liner disaster, a debris collection agency is formed but it’s a money losing venture for the corporations.
Follow the men and women of the “Half-Section” and witness the harrowing experience that is involved with such dangers.
PLANETES is directed by directed by sci-fi veteran Goro Taniguchi (SCRYED, INFINITE RYVIUS) with art direction by Shigemi Ikeda (GUNDAM SEED, INUYASHA) and mechanical designs by Takeshi Takakura (APPLESEED MOVIE, HEAT GUY J). Voted “Best Sci-Fi Series of 2005” by Anime Insider magazine, the high degree of realism in PLANETES that comes from consultation with NASA will appeal to fans of mature sci-fi. The extras even include exclusive images and information from Australia’s own Canberra-based space debris hunters – EOS Space Systems.
This is the first six volumes of PLANETES on DVD.
