hayao miyazaki’s new film announced

Toho has announced that Oscar winning director Hayao Miyazaki’s next Studio Ghibli feature film will be titled PONYO ON A CLIFF (Gake no ue no Ponyo). Production is said to have begun last October and is currently expected to be released in Japanese cinemas mid-2008. The film is said to be based on an original story by Hayao Miyazaki who is also creating the storyboards himself in watercolours.
