It’s awards season in Hollywood, which can only mean one thing: another chance to don designer frocks and sip Moët and Chandon. But no matter whether you attended the Golden Globe Awards (which were held on Sunday the 17th Jan), the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards (coming up on Jan 23rd) or simply attending the opening of a new packet of Mint Slice biscuits on your couch, January is an exciting time for film lovers, as it’s famously when the most interesting Hollywood films are released. Some of our favourite actors and filmmakers were nominated for awards, including the dashing Colin Firth for A SINGLE MAN (though, criminally, not for his work in Michael Winterbottom’s amazing GENOVA), who received a Golden Globe and a SAG nomination.
