There’s an apocalypse at the academy…
It’s already a challenge to concentrate at school, but how do you get your assignments done when someone is hungry to eat your brains?!
This is the horrific problem faced by the stars of the hottest new anime currently airing in Japan – HIGH SCHOOL OF THE DEAD!
Madman is pleased to announce we will be streaming High School of the Dead each week on our website in our Screening Room + section found at http://www.madman.com.au/videos
New episodes will be released every Wednesday, only two days after Japanese broadcast.
The unrelenting action launches tonight with the first two episodes!
A deadly new disease is ravaging the world, turning the populace into mindless zombies, and the number of infected is skyrocketing by the second. As their fellow classmates and teachers succumb to the infection around them, a small group of students at Fujimi High School are fighting for their lives after surviving the initial outbreak. It is up to Takashi Komuro to unite the group of weary survivors and try to escape the horrors that surround them. In this new world of the living dead…will they escape?
High School of the Dead is by Director Tetsuro Araki (Deathnote, Black Lagoon), animated by studio MADHOUSE and adapted from the highly successful manga of the same name by Daisuke Sato.

1:09pm 15/07/2010Awesome news! Good to see that another quality series will be streamed now that Brotherhood is finished and that it will be available so quickly after the Japanese broadcast.
(am guessing that since Madman have the rights to stream this then there will be an upcoming dvd/BD release?)

12:46pm 16/07/2010looks interesting although I have a quick question. The episodes have an age check which I haven’t yet seen in the screening room. is this going to be a more common thing and can there be an option in the accounts stuff to skip it?

2:32pm 16/07/2010if it’s not rated R 18+ I’m guessing this is the censored release. Still, good work Madman, great acquisition!

3:39pm 16/07/2010There’s a manga as well? Awesome, I must track this down.

4:08pm 16/07/2010Not censored. Online streaming is pre-censor rating, but as MA15+ is expected the 15 age requirement is in place.

4:20pm 16/07/2010Not censored – awesome!! I’m surprised it’s only been given an MA15+ considering the violence, gore and adult content. It only gets worse with nudity and sexual references coming up soon. I know the rating system in Japan is a lot softer than it is here which is why I’m surprised.
