Meet Local and International Cosplay Stars at Madman Anime Festival Perth!

MadFest Perth is coming up VERY soon (March 3-4 2018!), and we've got some incredible local and international Cosplay Stars attending to share their tips, attend photo sessions and cosplay gatherings with fans, and more.

International Cosplay Star: Jin (Philippines)

Jin is a cosplayer from the Philippines who is known for accurate and charismatic portrayals of characters such as Hiro Hamada from Big Hero 6, Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto Shippuden, and Noctis from Final Fantasy XV. Jin produces cinematic photo shoots as of Tux Team – a group of passionate and talented friends who love costuming and photograph as a hobby. Many of their shoots have become hits on international media due to their screen-accurate portrayals of series such as Big Hero 6, Ore Monogatari!! (My Love Story!!), and Kingdom Hearts. Jin happily shares their knowledge and fun experiences at conventions worldwide.

International Cosplay Star: Miguel (Philippines)

Miguel is a cosplayer and illustrator from the Philippines. He is part of the Tux Team cosplay group – a group of friends who are known for their cinematic photo shoots.

His artwork is a distinct mix of modern and classical aesthetics, which has led to him doing covers for Power Rangers, Robotech, Over the Garden Wall, and G.I. Joe, as well as artwork for Overwatch.

Local Cosplay Star: Kirilee

Kirilee Cosplay is a Perth based cosplayer and is one half of Team Australia for the World Cosplay Summit 2018 in Nagoya, Japan. She has also represented WA twice in the Madman National Cosplay Championship and won the National Champion title in 2015.

Kirilee is so excited to be at Madman Anime Festival this year as a local cosplay star!

Local Cosplay Star: Giorgia

Beginning her sewing and cosplaying career back in 2003, Giorgia is an avid fan of all things pop-culture, sci-fi, fantasy and anime. Since her first convention in 2004, she has competed in and won many cosplay and masquerade awards, including the Madman National Cosplay Championship (MNCC), of which she was a finalist in 2010 and 2011, and won the overall Championship in 2012.

Taking her love of costume further, Giorgia graduated in 2015 with an Advanced Diploma in Costume from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). She also competed and won first prize in the Costume Category in the TELSTRA Perth Fashion Festival ‘Future Runway’ event in 2015.

Aside from cosplaying, she’s involved int he cosplaying and convention community by hosting and MCing cosplay events and conventions, as well as running panels, and is currently one-half of the Australian Representatives for the WCS World Cosplay Summit in Japan for 2018.
