Madman Entertainment

You’ve been trying to get started on that tough new project, but how to start? What can get you kickstarted? You need MOTIVATION! The answer is clearly a MOTIVATIONAL POSTER!

You’ve seen them, from the cutesy kitty cat and the poignant “Hang in there”, to the one word definitions like DETERMINATION, and a picture of a mountain. A sporting hero, overcoming incredible odds (or terrible injuries).

Then, you’ve seen how crazy the motivational posters got when they became an internet meme. Well folks, its time to add to the zeitgeist.

Artists were asked to create their own motivational poster as subversive and crazy as you like (But keep it clean!) and use Anime characters, settings, or iconography to make an inspirational message.

Read on for our winners and honorable mentions!

Defeat With B-Ko by Big Unit

A regular festival of ideas, Big Unit supplied a wonderful range of responses to the competition, and just pipping his “Follow The Leader “ piece (look at Piccolo’s perturbed expression!) is this great scene from Project A-KO and a tongue in cheek message to help you burn the midnight oil! A great reminder never to give up.

Big Unit wins 1st prize of a $150 Madman store voucher!

Second Place

Community Spirit by Bijoux

This was not just a nice piece, but a good community message. The Fanzone art competitions has truly found a good bunch of regulars that are very encouraging and helpful to one another, so it’s fitting that Bijoux took the opportunity of a Motivational topic to espouse exactly that community spirit! Of course, the piece is very fitting to the brief, with its message clear at a glance and the art tells a fun story with a warm exchange between Naruto and Goku.

Bijoux wins 2nd prize of a $100 Madman store voucher!

Third Place
Flailing Poster by Arrow

We’ve all felt this way sometimes!  Arrow makes great use of the Motivational Poster format with a fun, tongue in cheek and amusing way to express what it’s like when you get a bit emotional… sometimes you flailing about, is just the thing. Great use of character with Sunako from Wallflower in a simple, expressive piece.

Arrow wins 3rd prize of a $75 Madman store voucher!

Fourth Place

A Single Step by Corad

Taking a well worn piece of philosophical advise, is Fanzone regular Corad, using Luffy’s unique powers to explain the point amusingly, and literally!  Let’s hope not all our first steps have to be big stretchy ones, but luckily this works just fine for Luffy!

Corad wins 4th prize of a $50 Madman store voucher!
