Have you experienced a dish so delicious that you've had a 'foodgasm'?

Food Wars is an anime all about cooking, with amazing dishes prepared and served every episode, leaving you craving the delicious food that you… well… don’t have.

The series follows Souma, a teenager who has a passion for cooking and hopes to one day own a restaurant. When his father closes down their family restaurant, his hopes are dashed… until he find out his father has enrolled him in a cut throat culinary school! And this is where the fun begins. When people try any dish in the Food Wars world, they experience what is known as a ‘foodgasm’, and Souma has a gift for making people experience them!

So, to celebrate the release of Food Wars on DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital, we’re sharing some of our top foodgasms from Season 1! But in all honesty, we just want to make you all hungry.

#5 – Transforming Furikake Gohan (Episode 2)

Souma makes his dish for Erina Nakiri, his talented rival, during his enrollment test to the prestigious Totsuki Culinary Academy. This is also a dish on the secret menu of Restaurant Yukihara, his father’s restaurant.

We want to be tickled by something this delicious too…

#4 – Gotcha Roast Pork (Episode 1)

In order to save his father’s restaurant, Souma serves up this delectable dish to a vicious residential planner. The primary ingredients in the Gotcha Roast Pork are bacon, mushrooms and potatoes.

Your mouth is watering, isn’t it?

#3 – Honey Pickled Squid Tentacles (Episode 3)

Souma feeds this traumatising dish to the poor and unsuspecting Megumi Tadokoro, to celebrate the pair being joined together during the first class assignment. This is dish can also be seen in Episode 1, but with peanut butter instead of honey.

We might give this dish a miss, thanks.

#2 – Char Okakiage (Episode 9)

Souma makes this innovative dish during the first day of the Totsuki Friendship and Rapport Training Camp. This average fish-based dish looks like it would melt in your mouth, after a satisfying crunch when you first bite into it.

Is it lunch time yet? My tummy is rumbling…

#1 – Apple Risotto (Episode 16)

During the heated 490th cooking duel against his father, Souma improvises a ‘rejuvenating breakfast dish’. It is a success, because he revitalises 3 different people with it.

A gentle kiss from an Apple prince to wake you up? Sounds dreamy…
