Madman has distributed a number of New Zealand films that rank amongst the highest grossing local films of all time including HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE, WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, THE BREAKER UPPERERS, SAVAGE recently adding classics SIONES WEDDING & WHALE RIDER to the catalogue.
Since inception, Madman has been a proactive member across screen industry bodies AIDA, AHEDA & SPA.
Madman is actively engaged in several strategic ventures, including investment stakes in the CCM (Curzon, Cinéart and Madman) development fund, production outfit Third Man Films, and distribution output agreements with local powerhouse Producers GoodThing Productions and Piki Films.
Madman’s home entertainment sales and operations division has consistently ranked top three distributors in the ANZ territory. The division is continuing to grow, providing sublicencing, aggregation and agency services for BBC, Crunchyroll, Palace Enterprises, Icon Film Distribution, Acorn TV, ViaVision, Umbrella Entertainment, Limelight, Hi Gloss, Eagle and Defiant.
Madman Entertainment also operates and curates two wholly owned streaming platforms DocPlay and Garage on a proprietary VoD technology platform.
Madman is currently developing a Reconciliation Action Plan and is well placed to continue delivering tangible and substantive positive outcomes for First Nations peoples and culture.
