TREE OF PALME
Palme, a puppet created by a man to care for his sickly wife, falls into despair following her death. After a chance encounter with a mysterious woman he begins on a quest that becomes his first step towards reconciling his feelings and perhaps becoming more human. A modern retelling of the classic Pinocchio story with a sc-fi / fantasy twist. Tree of Palme is written and directed by highly respected animator Takashi Nakamura, famous for his work as chief animator for the cyberpunk masterpiece Akira, Tree of Palme is tentatively scheduled for release in late 2006.

SUPANOVA
Supanova returns to Brisbane on April 21-23 for one of the most feature packed events yet. Anime guests include Sean "Goku" Schemmel and Mike "Master Roshi" McFarland. Mike will be signing free autographs at the Madman Entertainment booth all weekend, where you can meet the crew and check out some sweet convention exclusives. There's also a wealth of anime events on over the weekend including the Madman Cosplay contest, karaoke, trivia and of course constant anime screenings at the Madman Anime Theatre, including the premiere of InuYasha Movie 1 and The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello with a special introduction by director Anthony Lucas.

Ranging from oddball cults to the damn right hilarious, REEL LAUGHS screens every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night throughout the Comedy Festival at the Trades Hall theatrette, from April 13-May 6. We've got a few tricks up our sleeve so be ready for some extra bang for your buck with special guest appearances, giveaways and other surprises!
