Another of the oldest clubs in Australia. Every Saturday afternoon, except for the first Saturday in the month, or if otherwise noted, the group screens Japanese animation (mostly subtitled in English). The aim of the group is to make people aware that there are forms of animation that are different from the common American cartoons or animated movies.
The Murdoch Anime directive (MAd) is one of Perth's leading anime clubs, promoting cultural awareness of Japanese animation and related activites as well as providing a place where like-minded individuals can meet on a regular basis to share ideas and opinions, to learn from each other, form friendships and above all have fun while doing so. We hold anime screenings most Sunday afternoons during the semester showing some of the newest anime subbed from Japan.
POWA is the only anime club in the Northern Suburbs and we screen every Sunday afternoon at the Edith Cowan University Joondalup campus. POWA aims to diversify and expand the experience of viewing anime, and bring together like-minded individuals for discussion and friendship. We also host several other social events and meet ups including picnics, laser tag, computer LANs, and movie viewings to mention a few.
UWAnime is the Japanese Animation club at the University of Western Australia, affiliated with the Guild of Undergraduates.
